Wilson's Story
Wilson meets a new person, wags his whole back end, and decides on the spot that the two of you are friends now. He has never needed longer than that with anybody.
He is a brindle pit mix, around three years old and about 55 pounds. He arrived with a clean coat and a collar that still looked new, carrying himself like a dog who had lived in a house. He has since had time in one, and he did well there. He is house trained. He is also dog friendly.
The rest of him is easy to describe. Wilson is playful, affectionate, and endlessly social. He wants attention, he wants to play, and he has the mix of goofy and sweet that is hard to be in a bad mood around. He does not guard his food, his toys, or his space. He has been bathed here and did not mind it. A walk, some playtime, and a spot on the couch next to you is the whole ask.
A few honest things before you apply. Wilson does best with older children rather than little ones. He has never been around cats that we know of, so we cannot tell you how he would do living with one. And he has been with us since October of last year, one of the longest waits in the building. It has not changed the way he greets people.
We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
