MEET WILMA! STATS: 5 years old, spayed, Staffy Mix, 55 lbs AFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a short little chunk with big loving personality! I can be energetic when I'm playing with my dog friends, running around outside. I also love to play with my human friends, like a one-sided game of fetch where I give up halfway. I am also very affectionate and love to show my sweet side for some scratches. I can be a little shy at first with new people, but it doesn’t take long for me to realize you are my new best friend! WHAT I LOVE: I love other dogs, people, walkies, playing outside, and running around the yard. My little booty wiggles so hard that I look like I'm waddling! I am such a happy and playful girl and I love being involved in whatever everyone is doing – exploring on a walk with shelter staff, dog playgroup, everything! KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks I would do well with older kids that understand I can be a tiny bit nervous with new people. OTHER DOGS: I enjoy playing with other dogs! I go to the small dog playgroup here at the shelter every day! CATS: Unknown HER MATCH: I would do wonderfully in a home where I can be included as a part of the family. I would do great with a dog sibling that I can play wrestle with! When I become friends with you, I absolutely fall in love so be prepared for me to want to be your shadow! SPECIAL NOTE: sometimes, I smile so big my ears disappear! Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
