Willy - TRAINED DOG's Story
Willy is a 1.5-2yr old American Bulldog. Despite his beat up elbows he's not an older dog. He was likely living as an outdoor dog on hard concrete before he ended up at the shelter, and then landed with us.

Willy became a candidate for our program when he was starting to deterioriate behaviorally at the shelter. He was super stressed there, biting his leash when taken out and even biting the shoes sometimes of staff and volunteers who would walk him. But, once out of the shelter, we realized that despite all the "energy" Willy had at the shelter, he's quite a lazy dog, LOL.

Willy is a medium to low energy bulldog. He is well trained, but won't be winning any obedience competitions seeing as he'd rather just lay at your feet or be petted.

With proper introductions Willy gets along great with other same sized dogs, both male and female. He does love to play when he meets a dog who shares his play style, but also is happy to just be with or cuddle with his person. Yes, he's a big cuddler.

Willy also loves the water! Puddles, bath time, our doggie/kiddie pool, he loves a good splash.

He tolerates nail trimming and other grooming.
We have not observed this dog to have any resource guarding or seperation anxeity when left alone.

Willy will bark (yip!) when he can see you and you're not paying attention to him. But if you walk out of sight, no more barking.

Overall, Willy has a very chill and relaxed demeanor.

-------

This dog is currently participating in our prison dog training program in Miami, Florida.

Our dogs become available for adoption upon completion of their training program where they meet all the criteria to pass the following AKC certifcations:

1. AKC (American Kennel Club) Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
2. AKC CGC-Advanced
3. ACK Trick Dog Novice

Go head, google all that :)

For more information about each of our dogs and our program, visit our Magic City K9 Facebook page or send us a text to (305) 842-3974.

We also have video content of our available dogs on our YouTube Channel, be sure to go check those out too!

Learn more about our program at www.magiccityk9.org.

Please note that we require all prospective adopters to fill out an application at our website. The message you send through PetFinder (here) is not OUR application, it's just an inquiry.
