Willy - Adoption Pending's Story

Willy - Male - Adult
Approx 5 years old
Weight: approx. 6 kgs

Meet sweet Willy!

He is a small breed poodle mix, so he will need regular brushing and grooming.

Willy is a bit like the eccentric uncle in the family. He is rather attached to his leash and is learning to go about his day without it. We do still let him sleep with it, but its his leash, and he wants you to know that—so no touching!

He is a classic lap dog and loves to race to the couch to make sure he gets the prime spot on your lap before his foster siblings do. He enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and—once he warms up to you—giving the best cuddles and kisses.

It has been a learning experience in our house with him building independence and crate training. He would much prefer to go everywhere and do everything with you (though he isnt a huge fan of the car!). Crate training was necessary because he had some peeing when left alone—it seems to be more about disliking being left by himself, as he doesn't do it while we're home or during the night.

He does well with other dogs in the house, though he can show a tendency to resource guard when feeling insecure. This is part of why he only gets his leash at bedtime. He prefers to sleep on the bed with you, but for the first few nights, we kept his crate next to the bed to help him settle in.

He is super friendly when meeting new people and is good with both men and women! We are unsure how he is with kids, but likely fine as long as they can be respectful and understand that a growl just means he needs a little space.

Willy will be an excellent companion buddy, especially if you're a homebody! As with most small dogs, he will need regular dental care alongside his grooming. He also has a history of painful ears, so he isn't a fan of having his ears touched.

Adoption fee is $295. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated.
