Willow's Story

Willow trees are noted for their flexibility and graceful appearance, hence the adjective willowy, which means "gracefully slender and lithe," qualities seen as desirable feminine attributes. The name also designates a strong lady - as beautiful and resilient as the tree itself. Akita Rescue's "Willow" is much like the name implies - very pretty, feminine, gentle and graceful.

Willow is approximately 6-7 years old, spayed and tummy tacked. She loves pretty much everyone she has had the chance to encounter - and even has big tail wags for cats (has shown no interest in them other than sniffing - was leash tested).

When first meeting a male Akita mix - just a bit larger than she, Willow was inquisitive and very friendly - even gave him a few kisses. Together Willow and her new friend went for a walk and she showed absolutely no aggression at all. She has not been tested with a female dog, so I would say a dog of the opposite sex would be her best bet.

Watch out little lizards, she loves to chase them!!

Rides very well in a car (van) and knows how to "load up"!

A small girl (approximately 65 pounds) with a big loving personality - - and a wonderful tail!

Take a good look at this girl - on one side she is all white - on the other she has wonderful markings!! An exceptional beauty!! (can't tell that I absolutely LOVE this girl, can you!!)

She will do best with a family that will join her in obedience training (she walks fairly well on a leash, but does need a bit of direction - don't think she was ever properly trained).
