Willow's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3854<br/>Meet Willow... This precious 8-year-old girl was found as a stray by an animal shelter. She had obviously been on the streets, fending for herself and living in the elements way too long and had likely had little or no care before that. Thank goodness she's now safe in a cool and comfortable ATDR foster home where she's being well loved and well cared for and receiving veterinary care she's been deprived of for so long. Her foster mom reports that she's really sweet and gets along well with her foster siblings! She is very dachshund like in her demeanor but looks more like a whippet or min pin with her long legs! She runs with the pack and often takes an alpha role in the play yard! We can definitely see improvement in Willow's health and attitude. She was treated for heartworms and has recuperated very well. Her skin has cleared up a lot and she has gotten back a lot of her hair and it gets better every day! Veterinary Report: Upon entering rescue Willow has tested positive for heart worms. She has hair loss on her caudal half of her body. Her skin was lichenified due to chronic condition and there are scabbed over sores throughout her body most likely from her previous living conditions outdoors and a strong yeast odor present. Patient is dehydrated and underweight.
