WILLOW's Story
Meet Willow! Willow may be small in size, but she's hoping for a big second chance.

This sweet 8-year-old Chihuahua mix came to the shelter after being surrendered by her previous owner, and while the transition has been a little overwhelming, Willow is ready to find a quiet home where she can finally relax and be loved.

Willow is the kind of dog who appreciates life's simple pleasures—a peaceful walk, a tasty treat, and a cozy spot to curl up beside her favorite person. She's easy to leash, walks nicely by your side, and appears to have some house manners already. In fact, one of the first things she did when she reached the yard was take care of her business, suggesting she may already be potty trained.

This little lady knows sit and enjoys treats, taking them gently with perfect manners. While she's not looking to win any obedience competitions, she would benefit from continued training and socialization to help build her confidence and strengthen her bond with her new family.

Willow can be a bit uncertain in new situations and would thrive with a patient adopter who understands that confidence grows with time. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality begins to shine.

When it comes to other dogs, Willow seems to have opinions. She wasn't interested in interacting with a small dog during introductions, and she made it very clear that she wasn't a fan of a larger dog walking nearby. Because of this, Willow may be happiest as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the attention herself. If there is another small dog in the household, a proper introduction will be important to ensure everyone gets along.

Willow has reached a stage in life where she's not asking for much—just a safe place to land, a gentle hand to guide her, and someone who will love her for exactly who she is. In return, she'll offer loyal companionship and the special kind of gratitude only a rescued senior dog can give.

Could Willow be the missing piece to your family?
