Willow's Story

Name: Willow
Age: 6 Years
Gender: Female
Breed: Large Mixed Breed
Weight: 91Ibs

Meet Willow! This sweet girl is a gentle, low-energy soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. Willow is very shy and can be easily startled, but what really melts our hearts is that when she’s unsure, she looks to her humans for comfort. She may not be the type to immediately run up and ask for attention, but with a little patience, she is learning that people can be her safe place.

Willow is an easy girl to walk on a leash and would likely enjoy a quiet home where she can take things at her own pace. She can be nervous around new things, including our fake dogs outside, which definitely catch her off guard! We do believe Willow has lived with other dogs before, but as always, we recommend a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to make sure everyone is comfortable together.

This girl enjoys treats, although she currently prefers them served on the floor rather than taking them directly from your hand. Toys? Well... Willow is still waiting for someone to explain what those are! She hasn't quite discovered the joy of toys yet, but we think a patient family may get to watch her discover all kinds of new things for the first time.

Willow could use some extra socialization, patience, and confidence-building, along with a good grooming to help her feel her very best. She isn't looking for a busy or chaotic lifestyle—she's looking for someone who will give her time, reassurance, and plenty of love while she learns how wonderful being a dog can be.

Willow will need to be spayed before she heads home. If you're looking for a quiet companion and are willing to let a shy girl blossom at her own pace, Willow may be the sweet girl you've been waiting for.

Adoption questionnaire & information: https://www.waynedogshelter.org/adoption-questionnaire

Sponsor her $175 spay here: https://client.pointandpay.net/web/WayneCoDogShelterOH/
