Willing's journey began with heartbreak after he and his friend, Able, were abandoned together in Benson Park in North Mankato. When no one came to reclaim him from the impound, he found his way to BENCHS, where it quickly became clear that his past hadn't taken away his love for people.<br/><br/>If Willing had a life motto, it would probably be, "I've never met a stranger."<br/><br/>This handsome boy is incredibly social and has an infectious enthusiasm for making new friends. While some dogs take their time deciding who they trust, Willing skips that step entirely. If you're willing to say hello, he's already convinced you're going to be best friends. His happy personality shines through in everything he does, and his excitement for life is impossible not to smile at.<br/><br/>Willing is an energetic dog who enjoys staying busy and being part of the action. Whether it's heading out for a walk, exploring a new place, learning something new, or simply spending time with his people, he's happiest when he has an outlet for both his mind and his body.<br/><br/>He already knows "sit" and is very treat motivated, making him a wonderful candidate for continued positive reinforcement training. He also loves working on a stuffed Kong and enjoys enrichment that keeps his busy mind occupied.<br/><br/>Although Willing arrived with Able, the two are currently kenneled separately. Willing is the younger, more energetic of the pair, and it seemed that his playful enthusiasm was sometimes a little much for Able. Since being at the shelter, Willing has not shown signs of dog aggression, but as with any dog, we recommend thoughtful introductions with other dogs to help everyone get off to a successful start.<br/><br/>Because Willing came to us as a stray, we are unsure how he would do with cats or young children.<br/><br/>Willing is looking for an active family that will embrace his outgoing personality and continue teaching him all the things a beloved family dog should know. He has already proven that his heart is wide open. Now all he needs is someone to give it a place to belong.<br/><br/>If you're searching for a cheerful, affectionate companion who is always ready for life's next adventure, Willing may be exactly the dog you've been waiting for.
