Willa's Story

Oh, Willa. Another one of those little dogs who makes you wonder how in the world someone wasn't missing her.

Willa is approximately 6 years old, weighs 10 pounds, and appears to be a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix. Whatever she is, she's absolutely precious! Willa was found as a stray, and here's something funny. We didn't even realize until after we got her that she was missing an eye! I guess we just didn't notice because, quite frankly, it doesn't matter. She doesn't care, she gets around just fine, and she can see perfectly well with the eye she has. And honestly, I think her heart sees even more than most. And speaking of her heart, this girl is a LOVER.

Willa has a funny little habit of sneaking into bed with you. You can go to sleep without her anywhere in sight and wake up to find her snuggled right up next to you like she's been invited all along. Of course, she'd much prefer that you just take her to bed with you in the first place. It would save her the trouble of having to sneak in!

She's an incredibly sweet, gentle little girl who just wants to be close to her people. She's been very quiet, does wonderfully with the other small dogs, and we think she'd be fine with respectful children. We haven't tested her with cats yet. She's also good in a crate and rides nicely in the car.

Willa doesn't need anyone to feel sorry for her. She doesn't know she's missing anything, and she certainly isn't letting it slow her down. What she does need is someone who appreciates a sweet little shadow, doesn't mind sharing their bed, and understands that sometimes the very best dogs aren't necessarily the ones who look perfect on paper.
Willa may only have one eye, but she's got her sights set on finding someone to love for the rest of her life.

Please apply here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog

Her minimum adoption donation amount is $275. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

We are located in Bloomington, IL
We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state.
Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt.

Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Better yet, help speed up the adoption process by also sending us your vet records, and having your references e-mail us at Deebysrescue@gmail.com
