Willa's Story
Meet Willa!
Willa is a 9-year-old English Bulldog weighing a petite 42 pounds, and she’s looking for a calm, loving home to spend her golden years. She has a huge heart, a gentle soul, and an undeniable love for snuggling on the couch with her people.
Willa has dry eye and limited vision (she gets around great though), so she requires eye drops multiple times a day, including at least one mid-day dose. Because of this, she cannot be left alone for a full workday without a midday potty break and eye drops. She is crate trained and does well with routine.
Due to her limited eyesight, Willa is best suited for a home with children ages 10 and up. She is very food motivated and may “chomp” if she thinks food is being offered (this is accidental but could be unsafe for young children). She also should not be around children jumping on trampolines, as the fast-moving feet trigger her to bite at them.
Speaking of motivation — Willa is obsessed with toys! Balls don’t stand a chance (she will chase and destroy them), and squeaky toys are her absolute weakness. If she hears a squeak, she will follow it anywhere. She also loves chewing on toys and bones and is perfectly happy entertaining herself nearby.
Willa is potty trained and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. She’s otherwise healthy, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs; we’re unsure how she feels about cats. A fenced yard is not required.
Because of her age and mobility, Willa does not do well with stairs and needs a home with little to no stairs. She also gets nervous during car rides and does best riding in a crate or wearing a diaper to prevent accidents in the vehicle.
At the end of the day, Willa is a loving, affectionate bulldog who wants nothing more than a cozy couch, some squeaky toys, and a human to snuggle with. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion with lots of love to give, Willa may be your perfect match.
Her adoption fee is $350, and you can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com.
