Willa's Story
Meet Willa — a gentle senior with so much love to give

Willa is a 12-year-old wire-haired terrier mix who came into foster care this past winter after her owner sadly passed away. Through no fault of her own, she found herself needing a new home — and now she’s patiently waiting for someone to give her the love and security she deserves.

Weighing just around 10 pounds, Willa is a small, easy companion with a big heart. She is housebroken and crate trained, and she settles nicely into a routine. Willa does well with other dogs after a short adjustment period and has shown no interest in cats. She has also done well around children, including spending time with an active 4-year-old.

Willa is fully vetted, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and recently had a dental cleaning. She is ready to move right into her forever home.

Her favorite thing in the world is simply being close to her person. Willa is incredibly sweet and affectionate — the kind of dog who will quietly follow you around, curl up beside you, and offer steady companionship.

Despite all she has to offer, Willa has been passed over more than once due to her age. Senior dogs like Willa have so much love left to give, and she is hoping to find a home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, comfortable, and cherished.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion and are ready to open your heart to a senior dog, Willa may be the perfect match.

Please submit an application to adopt at: empirerescue.org.
