He’s incredibly affectionate and lives for snuggles — whether he’s curled up beside his foster parents or cozied up with his doggy foster sister. One of his most endearing quirks? He loves to sleep flat on his back, belly up, completely relaxed and trusting.<br/><br/>A sensitive soul outdoors<br/><br/>Wesley shines in the comfort of home, but the outside world can feel a bit overwhelming. On leash, unfamiliar people and dogs can make him nervous, and he may bark and pull on his leash. His foster family has been working on his leash reactivity, and he's improved quite a bit.<br/><br/>He is not comfortable with dogs he has not had enough time to meet, so dog parks are not for Wesley.<br/><br/>We are seeking a home in areas that are not busy bustling city streets and sounds. He'd be happiest in neighborhoods that are quiet.<br/><br/>His ideal home<br/><br/>Wesley will thrive in a calm, patient household, ideally with another friendly dog who enjoys cuddles, relaxed hangouts, and gentle play. He’s not a match for cats — Wesley is not a fit for a home with children. Wesley is seeking a home with an experienced owner who is familiar with leash reactivity and can help Wesley feel comfortable on neighborhood strolls. And his new home must love cuddles!<br/><br/>Bay Area Adoption/Fostered in the San Jose Area.<br/><br/>Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. Adoption Process The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy human and happy dog in a "forever home." The adoption procedure includes the following: The completion of an application -An interview with one of our volunteers -A get acquainted meeting with the dog and all family members, including other pets -A home visit May include confirmation that the landlord, homeowner's association, and/or city/county ordinances allow the dog to live in the residence Adoptions are local, confined to San Francisco Bay Area. If you see a dog on our website or meet one at an adoption fair that you are interested in getting to know, please complete our online adoption application. One of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. If you prefer, you may call or email us, but this can delay the adoption process.
