Wendy has officially settled in here in Colorado, found her footing, and is almost ready to begin the next chapter of her life in a forever home <br/><br/> <br/><br/>When Wendy was rescued from a Houston shelter, we knew she had been through unimaginable hardship. X-rays showed old BB gun pellets throughout her body, injuries consistent with being hit by a car, chronic hip trauma and arthritis, and she is also heartworm positive.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Our vet now believes Wendy is only around 6 years old. Her body simply carries the wear and tear of a lifetime of neglect and pain.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>What's heartbreaking is that none of it has changed how loving she is.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Wendy still greets everyone with gentle kisses. She loves children, does well with other dogs, and absolutely lights up for food and treats She is sweet, trusting, and affectionate despite every reason not to be.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Next week, Wendy will undergo:<br/><br/> Spay surgery<br/><br/> A major dental procedure with likely multiple extractions<br/><br/> Continued heartworm treatment and medical care<br/><br/> <br/><br/>The costs for her care are significant, but we could not leave her behind knowing the condition she was in. Site Visit and meet and greet with potential adoptable pet, if equine or farm animal, we will just perform a site visit. 4. Upon Approval - Adoption Application and Fee 5. Pick up pet, horse, llama, donkey, etc.
