Wendy's Story
A little shy, a little silly, and 100% ready to find her team—meet Wendy.

Wendy is a six-month-old Husky with a story that starts a little uncertain—but is already turning into something really special.

She was found as part of a group of 24 dogs living in an abandoned shop in Houston before making her way to one of our trusted rescue partners in Texas on March 14. Just one month later, she made the trip up to us—officially starting her next chapter.

Transport day was a big one for Wendy. New place, new people, new everything—and she wasn’t quite sure what to think. She started off pretty skittish and unsure, sticking close and taking it all in from a distance.

But here’s the thing about Wendy—she wants to be brave.

With a little time outside, some patience, and a few kind humans, you could actually see her confidence start to build. And by the end of the day? She had claimed the water bowl as her own personal pool and was fully living her best life.

That’s Wendy in a nutshell: a little cautious at first, but once she realizes she’s safe, her personality starts to shine—and it’s a fun one.

She’s going to thrive in a home that understands she may need a little time to settle in, but is ready to celebrate every win along the way. Watching her confidence grow is the kind of thing that makes all of this worth it.

Wendy’s story started in an abandoned building—but it’s not ending there. She’s ready for her forever team.

Breed & Size Disclaimer:
While Wendy appears to be a Husky, breed and adult size are our best guess based on physical traits and observation. These details are not guaranteed, and we always welcome friendly input if you think we may have missed the mark.
