Wendi's Story

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue.

Wendi is a lovely lady who is longing to be someone's cherished family member. She is polite and gentle and is a friend to everyone she meets. Wendi loves to go for walks and would also be a great hiking buddy. This girl is ready to be your travel sidekick wherever the road leads.

Wendi is a good girl when meeting other dogs and she has lived with canine companions before. She would be fine as an only dog but having some friends might be enjoyable for her. We aren't sure how Wendi would react to cats, therefore, any cats in the home should have a safe place to observe while she adapts to her new surroundings. Wendi will need a securely fenced yard so that her hound nose doesn't take her on field trips through the neighborhood.

Wendi recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Wendi is 10 years old and weighs 47 pounds.

Please note, we have approximately a 250 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We dont adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We dont ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up their dog. For questions about this dog please call Elizabeth Woche, Senior and Special Needs Dog Coordinator, at 425-974-9479

Save-A-Mutt's Adoption Policy
Save-A-Mutt is a Foster Based rescue. All our dogs are in foster homes, there is no facility to visit. All adopters are required to fill out an application. As we review the application, we may have questions - and prefer email to ask/answer them. So please check your email regularly. We may remove adoptable animals off of Petfinder while we work on applications - but will contact you to let you know. We like to have one good app per pet as not to disappoint people. It can take a couple days to finish an application, depending on your references, etc. Please let your references know that will be sending emails - they sometime go to junk mail. We enjoy open communication, but we are a volunteer organization, so please be patient. Once we receive all the information we need, we will schedule a phone interview, home check, etc. Thank you and we will be in touch! Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
