Wendell's Story

Wendell, Male, Chihuahua mix, 12 lbs. 5 years. Crate trained, will require additional potty training.

Wendell is a timid little guy in need of a patient nurturer, but once he feels comfortable he is a love bug, demanding pets with the gentle guidance of his paw. He eagerly greets his humans when they return home and enjoys his welcome snuggles. Wendell loves other dogs and would do best in a home with companions. Playmates help with his anxiety and help build trust. Wendell's crate is his safety zone and he does very well during working hours. Wendell has come a long way in foster care recently adapting to leash walking and enjoys going for walks. Due to his insecure nature small children should be avoided.

If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. A senior dog's adoption fee is $100. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html
