Wendel's Story

***FENCED YARD REQUIRED***
***LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY***

Wendel's rescue story is truly heartwarming! In June of this year, he was found on the side of a road in a dire state. He was painfully emaciated, plagued by ticks, had multiple open wounds that were bleeding, a swollen head, intestinal parasites, and severe anemia. To top it off, he tested positive for heartworms, but his treatment had to wait until he regained his health. With time and care, Wendel made an astonishing transformation, gaining nearly 10 pounds, conquering heartworms, and watching all his wounds heal. Now, this resilient little charmer is all set for adoption! Throughout his rehabilitation, Wendel's infectious joy shone through. He's a perpetual tail-wagger, a generous kisser, and a bundle of boundless enthusiasm. Wendel warmly greets everyone he encounters, eager to share his love and excitement. When we first found him, we were filled with worry, but Wendel had other plans – he was too busy being thrilled about the prospect of finding a loving family. Just be prepared; this spirited pup has an abundance of energy to share!

Wendel's date of birth is 6/14/2021 and he weighs about 48 pounds.

FOSTER UPDATE!!!

*Tell us about a time that made you smile or when they did something cute or heartwarming.
"Wendel LOVES to be petted. What kind of home do you think your foster would blossom in?
"Wendel is energetic and would be best in a family that is able to take time to teach him basic commands. As well, he needs playtime and walks, and especially a fenced yard to run around in. He would be suitable with a family that has older kids who understand responsibility for caring for a dog. He does well with other dogs."

All of our rescues are rehabilitated and once healthy are available for an adoption fee of $95 for cats and dogs. This fee includes:

• Extensive medical health check by a licensed veterinarian
• Up to date on all vaccinations
• Spayed/Neutered
• Microchipped
• 30-day pet health guarantee for local adoptions only (*Must follow process provided at time of adoption.)
• 30-day money back guarantee

Our goal is to find loving homes for all our rescued animals. Because we care about our rescues and their future, some animals have certain new family requirements before they can be released to their new home. Requirements for adoption could include the following:

• Fenced yard (required for most dogs) and home inspection for all animals; we will complete an onsite fence/home check prior to completing the adoption. (We do not accept invisible fences.)
• Veterinary reference for previous pet owners (must be/have been current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention)
• If no previous veterinary history, purchase of 3-month heartworm prevention
• If renting, verification with landlord on acceptability of pets and any restrictions, pet deposit, etc.
• Meet and greet with current pets to ensure compatibility

Note: We will call your current/previous veterinarian to verify that you have a history of providing vaccinations and heartworm prevention for your animal(s).
