Wellington's Story
Location: Dayton, OH

Food: American Journey Venison and Sweet Potato

Medication: NexGard Plus

Meet Wellington

At six and a half years old, Wellington is a bigger, strong-built Frenchie boy with a tender heart beneath his sturdy frame and is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people. He thrives when he knows what's expected of him and when his world feels steady and secure. Because he's a larger, powerful boy, he will need regular exercise and consistent walks to keep him trim, healthy, and balanced. Daily movement isn't just good for his body-it helps his confidence, too.

In his foster home, Wellington has done wonderfully in his pen and has shown that he genuinely enjoys toys. Toss him something fun and you'll see his playful side light up. That said, he prefers not to share his prized toys with other dogs. He's been working on his manners when it comes to treats and playtime, and he's making progress. Wellington will need a family committed to continuing that guidance-clear expectations, structure, and positive reinforcement will help him feel safe and understood.

Socially, Wellington does best with a calm, non-dominant female dog. While he has lived peacefully with other male dogs in his foster home without issue, he can be more nervous around unfamiliar male dogs. Thoughtful introductions and a steady environment will help him thrive.

Wellington arrived in rescue alongside his longtime companion, Koby-a calm, petite five-and-a-half-year-old Frenchie girl. Together they've navigated change with quiet resilience, leaning on each other as they wait for the next chapter of their lives to begin. Wellington and Koby truly complement one another. She brings a gentle steadiness; he brings loyal devotion. They can absolutely be adopted separately, but for a family without current dogs who is open to welcoming both, they make a wonderful pair. If adopted together, it must be into a home with no other resident dogs, giving them the space to settle in comfortably as a duo.

Wellington isn't looking for perfection-he's looking for patience. He's looking for a family who sees that his strength comes with sensitivity, that his size comes with sweetness, and that continued guidance will help him become his very best self.

With consistency, exercise, and love, Wellington will be a steadfast, loyal companion who gives his whole heart to the people he trusts.

***Adoption Process***
-All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention.
-Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area.
-We DO NOT ship dogs!!!
