Weevil's Story

Meet Weevil 💙

Weevil is a tiny guy with a huge heart—and once you’re in it, you’re there for life. His favorite place in the world? Your lap. If you’re looking for a constant companion who wants to be as close to you as possible, Weevil is ready to clock in full-time.

He does come with a bit of a “tough guy” first impression and will need a few meet-and-greets to decide you’re his person. But once that bond clicks, he transforms into the most loyal, loving little shadow you could ask for.

Weevil takes daily anxiety medication to help manage his big feelings, and he’ll need a home committed to continuing that long-term. He’s also still working on potty training—especially when he gets excited—so patience (and maybe a sense of humor) will go a long way.

Like many small dogs, Weevil sometimes uses his teeth to communicate, though he’s missing quite a few—so his “bite” isn’t what it used to be. With people he trusts, he’s far more likely to run and hide than anything else. Understanding his signals and giving him space when needed will set him up for success.

Weevil can live with other dogs and even enjoys playing, but his canine friends must respect boundaries and take corrections well. He’s done fine with dogs ranging from 10 to 120 pounds—he may be small, but he’s got opinions.

In short, Weevil is every Chihuahua stereotype rolled into one: a little naughty, a lot silly, fiercely loyal, and very much a one-person kind of dog. If you’re searching for a 10-pound guard dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Weevil might just be your perfect match.

He’s not for everyone—but for the right person, he’s everything.
