Weenie's Story

Weenie is an 8 year old male dachshund mix who came to us when his owner could no longer care for him. Poor guy was in rough shape between being severely overweight, nails grown into his paw pads and a painful broken tooth. After some TLC and vet care, Weenie is now on the path to a better life. Weenie currently weighs 29 pounds (down almost 2 pounds in the short time we’ve had him) and will need an adopter ready to continue helping him get to a healthier weight. Weenie does enjoy his short walks outside where he can explore (and get his steps in!) This older gentleman will likely do best in an adult-only home. He appreciates a calm, laid-back lifestyle…complete with lots of booty scratches! We haven’t tested Weenie with other animals. A meet and greet with any existing dogs in a potential new home will be required to ensure a good fit.
