Walter's Story

Our handsome wrinkly man Walter here is available for adoption in May after his neuter and surgery to correct his tiny nostrils so he can breathe more easily. We know he’s adorable and squishy and that he’s a very popular breed, but Walter has been very neglected for most of his life. His partner Gigi is far more socialized, but she’s had a few litters, so she needed more care through pregnancy and weening for her past owners to turn a profit. They only needed Walter for a few minutes and once his job was done, he was forgotten. Because of his past, Walter is a touchy boy. He needs a family who will give him time to build trust and respect his space when he asks for it. He’s fine with other dogs and cats, as long as they also give him lots of space and respect his boundaries. Same applies for kids: older is probably best.
We’re not trying to make him sound like a terror, because he’s a very sweet boy who seems to be enjoying affection for the first time ever. But we want to be %100 percent honest so that Walter ends up in the home he needs.
That being said, Walter is completely potty trained, doesn’t mind his crate, and already knows “sit” and “shake.” He’s a real charmer, but like all things worthwhile, you may have to work for it.

Apply to pre-adopt:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dMn6js8mDiYfYlych1EMbUn9Ypvhdxh5B5OSJqr2G8A/viewform
