Walter's Story

Hi, I’m Walter… the Snuggly, Quirky, Bed-Unmaking Gentleman You've Been Waiting for!
Hello there, future favorite human!
I’m Walter — a 1.5-year-old, 19-pound Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a crooked little tail that deserves its own movie deal. I’m adorable, charming, and slightly dramatic in all the best ways. I'm looking for my forever home with a mom and without young kids under 8, or other dogs.
Let me tell you why I’m basically perfect:
House Training:
Flawless. I don’t have accidents. Ever. I take great pride in my bathroom etiquette.
Sleeping Habits:
I can sleep in a kennel… but honestly, why would I when your bed exists?
I will even unmake the bed myself just so I can burrow in and snuggle right next to you. It’s a service I provide.
Walking & Yard Life:
I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy little adventures.
A fenced yard would be amazing for me — I love to trot, explore, and show off my tail - but it's not required if you can meet me on leash.
Important Safety Note:
I like to be close to my people — very close — which means I can be underfoot.
Because of that, I’m not a great match for anyone who uses a cane or walker or needs steady footing.
I’m also a bit too enthusiastic for very young kids, so homes with children 8+ are best. It does take me extra time to get used to guys, so a woman as my primary caregiver would be ideal.
My Voice:
Yes, I bark sometimes. I’m a small guy, but I like to let you know what’s happening around us. It’s not excessive — just my way of providing commentary. A little reassurance or distraction helps me settle quickly.
Food:
I have some food allergies, but don’t worry — my foster mom cracked the code.
I do fantastic on a home-cooked venison and rabbit diet. Stick with those, and I’m healthy, happy, and handsome.
What I’m Looking For:
Someone who loves couch time and bedtime snuggles
Someone who wants a loyal shadow (that’s me, everywhere you go)
Someone who will keep me on my special food
Someone without tiny kids and without mobility challenges
Someone who wants a sweet, silly, affectionate best friend who will adore them
If you want a dog who will make you laugh, warm your bed, follow you everywhere, and love you with his whole heart… then hi. It’s me.
Applications are now being accepted through WBTR at:
http://www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com/. I'm told there's a $400 adoption fee, and you can email wbtradoption@gmail.com with any questions.
Love,
Walter and his fabulous crooked tail
