Walter's Story
Meet wonderful Walter! This sweet boy is a 6 and a half-year-old hound mix. He is fully grown at a petite 47 pounds. Walter is looking for a home where he will receive the love he craves. Walter has a medium energy level. He loves to play outside and putting his nose to work like any hound. He is also happy to curl up on the couch for some cuddles on a rainy day. He is the best of both worlds as playmate and snuggle buddy. Walter gets along well with children and other dogs. He has interacted with many different dogs of various sizes and personalities and done well with all of them. Walter will need a home without a cat since he prefers humans and other dogs to coexist with.Walter is learning about life as a house dog and he is house and crate trained. Although he is housetrained, he does have a tendency to have accidents until he reaches a level of comfort with his people and surroundings. He is learning his leash training and working hard at mastering it. However, he is a jumper and needs to be leashed even in a fenced in area. He also appears to be a trained hunting dog and responses to hunting commands. So, a leash will be mandatory when outdoors. He is a great dog and is great in the home and with people.
