Found as a stray on a dirt road in a rural area, this handsome little gentleman waited for an owner who never came. Now he's ready to find a family who will cherish him furever.

Don't let his age fool you—Walter still has plenty of pep in his step! He's an active, social boy who enjoys walks and takes his toy-playing duties very seriously. Stuffed squeaky toys are his absolute favorite, although their life expectancy around Walter is rather short! He loves shaking them around and happily getting to work on their “de-stuffing.”

Walter is very food and treat motivated, which makes practicing skills and building a bond with him extra rewarding. He is both house trained and crate trained, giving his future family a wonderful foundation to build on.

This friendly fellow does well with other dogs, has no issues with cats, and would likely enjoy a home with gentle, dog-savvy children who understand respectful handling and play.

As a brachycephalic, or flat-faced, breed, Walter is sensitive to extreme temperatures. His family will need to keep him comfortable, be mindful of weather and activity levels, and provide breaks during outings. He is not a good fit for a tether system and needs supervised outdoor time with his people.

Walter is looking for a family who appreciates a seasoned gentleman with a mischievous streak, a love of snacks, and plenty of fun still ahead of him.
