Wally, Patron Saint of Being an Absolute Dude<br/><br/>Wally is a 2-year-old, 75-pound Labrador/English Pointer mix whose central thesis is that life is good, people are incredible, and perhaps everyone should come over immediately.<br/><br/>This man is aggressively sweet. Not delicate little "aww, he's nice" sweet. Wally loves with the indiscriminate enthusiasm of somebody who just got unlimited data. He is affectionate, joyful, spectacularly sincere, and built like a refrigerator that has somehow developed feelings. Seventy-five pounds of "BRO I MISSED YOU" when you were literally in the bathroom.<br/><br/>He is also house trained and crate trained, because apparently the large son has competencies. He's smart, eager to please, and extremely tuned into his people. There's Lab in there, so naturally enthusiasm occasionally exceeds available braking distance. There's English Pointer too, lending him that long-legged athletic elegance right up until he does something profoundly unserious.<br/><br/>Wally is great with other dogs and deeply committed to the ancient masculine ritual of finding another dude in the yard and immediately becoming best friends. Run? Bet. Wrestle? Absolutely. Investigate a smell together for reasons unavailable to science? Lock in.<br/><br/>But his real superpower is tenderness. Wally is just so damn kind. Underneath the comedy, the horsepower, and the magnificent acreage of dog is this soft, loving creature who wants to belong to somebody with his entire chest. He has no interest in rationing affection. Emotional austerity is not part of the Wally platform.<br/><br/>He's big. He's goofy. He's handsome. He's absurdly lovable. And somehow, despite being 75 pounds, Wally gives off the unmistakable impression that somebody should pick him up and tell him he's baby.<br/><br/>Which is ridiculous.
