Wally's Story
Wally
1.5-year-old Lab mix | Good Boy scholar | joy enthusiast

Some dogs are pleasant. Some dogs are charming. Wally, meanwhile, is running a full-scale happiness operation like the Chief Executive Officer of Vibes. This young Lab mix has the face of a thoughtful poet and the grin of a guy who just discovered the snack drawer and now believes the universe might actually be on his side. Velvety ears. Expressive eyebrows. A tail that seems powered by renewable energy.

Wally is crate trained. House trained. Domestically accomplished. He doesn't casually participate in Good Boy behavior; he approaches it with scholarly discipline. Sit means sit. Outside means outside. The man studies the syllabus. He submits the assignment. If there were a graduate program in Being A Delight, Wally would already be publishing research.

Playtime with Wally is not merely playtime. It is performance art. He gallops like a horse that recently discovered jazz. He zooms with narrative purpose. If joy were a professional league, Wally would already have endorsement deals and a signature sneaker.

Yet beneath the comedy lives a heart so sincere it almost feels unfair. Wally's core philosophy is simple: if you are in the room, he would also like to be in the room. On the rug. Near the couch. Possibly leaning against your leg like a supportive coworker during a difficult meeting.

With other dogs he passes the vibe audit instantly. No weird energy. Just excellent social credentials and enthusiastic participation in recreational shenanigans. He could absolutely serve as Director of Backyard Tomfoolery, but he would also thrive as your one and only ride-or-die, happily orbiting you like a loyal satellite made entirely of optimism.

There's something quietly luminous about him. Wally looks at people the way explorers look at new continents: hopeful, curious, ready.

He isn't just adoptable.
He's the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into suspiciously good ones.

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
