Waifer's Story

Waifer is a striking young female German Shepherd estimated around 7 months of age. Waifer was found as a stray and we unfortunately do not know her history or background prior to arrival at the shelter.

Waifer is a soft, sweet girl who is still very unsure of people. She is a bit on the skittish side and prefers to keep to the shadows whenever possible. Despite being unsure of most people Waifer has begrudgingly come to like cuddle time. Although Waifer tends to roleplay as an oppossum she is slowly starting to come around to the pampered life. She is good in the house, good in her crate, okay on leash, and a great spa day companion. Waifer has not been around children at this time but given her shyness we would not recommend her for a home with young kids.

Waifer does great with other dogs and often takes her cues from them. She is not very outgoing meeting new dogs but has a quiet sort of way of winning over even the most grumpy of dogs she has met. Once she is comfortable Waifer is a big fan of chase games and has recently starting roughhousing a bit more with her foster siblings. Waifer currently lives with cats and has shown no interest in them. In fact, she may be a bit more cat-like than dog-like...

Waifer is a kind pup who is looking for a patient and loving home that will help her gain confidence and socialization needed to thrive.
