Wagyu

Meet Wagyu!

Wagyu is a 10-month-old purebred Australian Shepherd searching for a special forever home with an experienced, committed owner who understands the breed and will continue building his confidence.

This incredibly smart, active boy has completed a basic obedience group class and made wonderful progress. Wagyu does have some stranger danger and needs calm, confident leadership, continued positive training, and thoughtful introductions to new people. He may greet strangers with a big, intimidating bark, but once he settles in, he's a sweet boy.

Wagyu is fantastic with other dogs, does well with cats, and has been wonderful with children. He is currently thriving in a foster home with a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old. With people he knows and trusts, he is a loving and loyal companion.

He loves hiking, water, training, doggy daycare, car rides, singing, his human—and especially food! Wagyu is a BIG foodie, accomplished counter surfer, and firmly believes nothing edible should be considered safe around him.

He is housebroken and crate trained. He currently uses an indestructible crate because he previously tried to escape from a regular one, although we don't know whether he would still attempt that now.

Wagyu is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, current on heartworm prevention, healthy, and ready for his forever home.

Australian Shepherds thrive with structure, consistency, and plenty of mental and physical exercise. Wagyu needs someone who will continue investing in his training and confidence while providing the active lifestyle he loves. In return, you'll gain a loyal, affectionate companion ready to join you on every adventure.

If you have Aussie experience, are confident handling a young dog who needs careful introductions, and want a lifelong best friend, Wagyu may be your perfect match. Please reach out with any questions!

Due to his slight behavioral challenge, we are seeking a local foster-to-adopt home, preferably within two hours of Slatington, Pennsylvania. MEET AND GREET IS REQUIRED!

If you think Waguy is the a perfect fit for you and your family please submit our adoption application at the link below.

https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
