Wags's Story
Meet Wags, a 4-month-old Borador (Border Collie/Lab mix) with a huge personality, a sharp mind, and a ton of potential packed into one small body.

Wags may be the smallest of his siblings, but he absolutely does not know it. This bold little guy is confident, driven, spunky, and always ready for action. He’s the type of puppy that walks into a room convinced he runs the place, and honestly, he usually does. He loves to play, loves interaction, and is always looking for the next thing to engage with.

What really makes Wags stand out, though, is how much natural working and sport potential he has already shown at such a young age.

Wags was evaluated for dog sport potential and showed a lot of promise. He has an excellent tug drive and absolutely loves to engage in play with his person. He is highly food motivated, extremely people focused, and eager to work and interact. He’s smart, quick to problem solve, and already showing the kind of engagement, confidence, and responsiveness that can make for a really fun sport or active companion dog.

He’s also obedient, rides great in the car, and walks well on leash. Wags genuinely enjoys learning and working with people. He thrives when given structure, interaction, training, and outlets for both his brain and energy.

Wags is also very loving and forms strong bonds with his people. Under all the sass and confidence is a puppy who genuinely wants connection and engagement. He’s affectionate, snuggly, and loves to be held.

That said, Wags does have a strong personality and a classic “small but mighty” attitude. He will need continued guidance, boundaries, and consistency as he matures. Because of this, he would not be a good fit for homes with children under 12 or with cats.

If you’re looking for a spirited, athletic, highly engaging puppy with brains, drive, confidence, and a whole lot of personality, Wags may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.

Medical Information:
• Neutered
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Heartworm tested (negative)
• Fecal tested (negative)
• On heartworm and flea preventative

Adoption Fee: $575
This fee includes all veterinary care, grooming, and supplies, and helps support our ongoing rescue efforts for other dogs in need. As a small nonprofit, Barkin Dogs Rescue relies on adoption fees to continue providing care and taking in dogs who need us most.

Interested in adopting Wags?
Please contact Elise at 816-898-5646 or email barkindogs1@aol.com to set up a meet and greet with Wags or any of his siblings.
