Waffles's Story
Welcome to rescue Waffles! - Located in CT

Waffles is a 1-year-old boy who is settling into foster care and starting to come out of his shell. He can be nervous with new things, but he's already making great progress—beginning to approach for pets and choosing to spend time near his people.

Waffles truly thrives with other dogs. He's bonded closely with his foster sibling and follows her everywhere, gaining confidence from her presence. Because of this, he's looking for a home with a friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes.

He's not leash trained yet (and has been known to chew through leashes), so he'll need a patient adopter willing to continue working with him. He's also not very treat-motivated right now, so building trust and routine will be key.

In the home, Waffles is an easy, well-behaved boy. He does not need a crate, is fine being left alone, and enjoys quietly hanging out with his people. He's good with cats and prefers to eat his meals in a calm, separate space.

He's still unsure about car rides and needs help getting in, but having another dog along makes it easier. He's also rebuilding strength after a rough start and has some occasional limping that is already improving.

Waffles isn't much of a toy player yet, but recently showed his first interest—his personality is starting to shine through.

Waffles is scheduled for neuter and will be ready for adoption once his vetting is complete.

His Ideal Home:

Another dog (required)
Fenced yard (desirable))
Patient, understanding adopter

Waffles may take a little time to fully open up—but for the right home, he's going to be incredibly rewarding.

It's never too soon to submit an application.
