Waffles's Story

Welcome to rescue Waffles! - Located in CT<br/><br/>Waffles is a 1-year-old boy who is settling into foster care and starting to come out of his shell. He can be nervous with new things, but he's already making great progress—beginning to approach for pets and choosing to spend time near his people.<br/><br/>Waffles truly thrives with other dogs. He's bonded closely with his foster sibling and follows her everywhere, gaining confidence from her presence. Because of this, he's looking for a home with a friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes.<br/><br/>He's not leash trained yet (and has been known to chew through leashes), so he'll need a patient adopter willing to continue working with him. He's also not very treat-motivated right now, so building trust and routine will be key.<br/><br/>In the home, Waffles is an easy, well-behaved boy. He does not need a crate, is fine being left alone, and enjoys quietly hanging out with his people. He's good with cats and prefers to eat his meals in a calm, separate space.<br/><br/>He's still unsure about car rides and needs help getting in, but having another dog along makes it easier.
