Von's Story

Von is an approximately 2-year-old, 80-pound Hound/American Bulldog mix with a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart that is ready to belong to someone.

Von joined the C.A.R.E. family after being hit by a car. His road to recovery wasn't a quick one - he had to wear a cast on his front leg for eight weeks. But this determined boy took it all in stride and has recovered remarkably well. These days, Von is ready to leave that chapter behind and get back to doing what he loves most: being a goofy, playful dog.

He has a playful, happy energy and loves to have fun. He would especially enjoy a canine companion who can keep up with his silly antics, match his playful spirit, and help him burn off some of that big-dog energy. Whether he's playing, exploring, or entertaining himself with his latest adventure, Von knows how to have a good time.

But underneath all that goofy energy is a dog who really wants to bond with his people. Von loves attention and is eager to be part of a family. He wants a person or family who will include him in their lives, give him guidance, and help him continue to grow into the wonderful companion he is meant to be.

At around two years old, Von has plenty of life and adventure ahead of him. With patience, consistency, positive guidance, and lots of love, he is ready to make the transition from rescue dog to beloved family member.

Von isn't looking for a quiet life on the sidelines. He wants a family who appreciates a big, goofy, playful dog and is ready for all the fun that comes with him.

If you're looking for an affectionate, energetic, companion - Von may just be the guy for you!

Please fill out a quick Match Me form online to schedule a meet and greet:

Von is vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. So all you need to provide is the love.

Our adoption fee is a minimum $150 tax-deductible donation. C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
All animals are spayed / neutered before they are available for adoption. This helps reduce pet overpopulation in the Ozarks - the highest in the country. Each animal is current on vaccinations. Both dogs and cats must receive three total sets of vaccinations to prevent deadly animal diseases. All animals at C.A.R.E. are kept current on their vaccinations while in our care (All animals are vaccinated for Bordetella or "kennel cough", DA2PPV, CVK-puppies, DA2PPV, Lepto-adult dogs, FVRCP-C-kittens & adult cats). Dogs and cats above the age of 12 weeks old also receive their rabies shots and are sent home with a rabies certificate, collar, & rabies tag. If a puppy or kitten is adopted before they have received the total three vaccinations, it is the responsibility of the adopter to provide them. Each animal has been dewormed and treated for fleas. Worms are parasites that can cause serious damage to your pet. C.A.R.E. deworms all of the animals in our care.
