Volcano's Story

Meet Volcano

Gentle, sweet, and quietly devoted, Volcano is the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with "his person." He may be shy at first, but behind that timid exterior is a playful, loving pup just waiting for the right person to earn his trust.

Volcano enjoys the company of other dogs and has done great when meeting new dog friends, he's even had playdates and had a blast! When meeting new people on leash, he'll allow gentle pets, but off leash he tends to be too nervous to approach. He's not the type to rush into new relationships, but with patience and consistency, he absolutely comes around.

Playtime is one of Volcano's favorite things. Sometimes he'll invite you to join in, and other times he's perfectly happy entertaining himself, tossing toys in the air, shaking them proudly, and then bursting into joyful zoomies. He also loves watching the world go by from the front window, popping his little head up like a curious meerkat, it's as cute as it sounds!

Volcano has already shown he can form strong attachments; his foster dad is his favorite person, and he's always looking for him when he's not around. He can take a bit longer to warm up to others, but that just means the bond you build with him will be extra special. He's still learning to trust everyone in the home, so he'll need a patient family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe.

He loves going for walks and has grown so much in confidence; what started as skittishness has turned into him happily leading the way. He also does well passing other dogs on walks. At night, Volcano chooses to sleep in his kennel (door open!) and settles in comfortably all on his own.

He absolutely loves sprinting laps outside, then zooming through the house, and back out again to start the fun all over!

Volcano would do well in a variety of homes, as long as his adopters understand that trust takes time. With patience, love, and a little bit of humor, Volcano will blossom into an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.

In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match! TIMELINE Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part: 1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process. 2) Let your references know to expect our call. 3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call. 4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records. LIFETIME GUARANTEE We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life.
