The loud noises, the cold floors, the feeling of being overlooked day after day. I was there for over a month waiting, hoping someone would choose me.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="313" data-end="328">But no one did.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="330" data-end="398">Until one day my time ran out. I was placed on the euthanasia list.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="400" data-end="441">That could have been the end of my story.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="443" data-end="476">But instead it was my beginning.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="478" data-end="723">Desert Paws Sanctuary stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. I was finally safe, but I wasn't okay yet. My body was hurting. I had a swollen vulva, and after visiting multiple vets, I was diagnosed with something scary TVT.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="725" data-end="732">Cancer.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="734" data-end="922">But just like I held on in the shelter, I kept holding on through treatment. I went through months of chemotherapy appointment after appointment and I had surgery to repair a hernia too.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="924" data-end="939">It wasn't easy.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="941" data-end="983">But I never gave up and neither did they.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="985" data-end="1070">After 4 long months, I heard the words that changed everything, I was cancer free.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="1072" data-end="1151">Now I'm here a senior girl with a story to tell and so much love left to give.</p><br/><br/><p data-start="1153" data-end="1319">I don't need much. I'm not looking for chaos or anything fancy. Desert Paws Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Adopters complete an adoption form. Organization will review it. Potential adopters will meet the animal. If the potential adopter wants the animal, we will inspect the home for safety and if it’s the right fit for the animal. If everything is good, adopter will pay the fee. Organization will provide a bag of the food the animal is on.
