If you don’t want to start from scratch with a puppy and you want a stalwart friend by your side at all times, then an adult dog may be the best choice you ever make. We’ve all heard the phrase, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Adult dogs have a great attention span and eagerness to please, allowing them to learn faster than more youthful members of their species. If you’re looking for a steadfast companion who will be truly grateful for a second chance at a happy life, consider adopting a dog.

Viv needs more socialization with people and dogs. She would not be a good dog for a first time owner. Training with positive methods needs to start immediately so she can learn a way to communicate in a successful way. Impulse control exercises to help her calm down. Because some body sensitivity to handling was seen, young children are not recommended at this time. High rise buildings with elevators or congested areas would not help her develop good behaviors. They would cause her to get too excited and possibly make poor choices. Work on trade up's for things of higher value. Do not just take things from her. Do not rough house and get her too excited, this is when she will start to jump up and get mouthy. Not too much touchy/feely/kissy/huggy until you have time to develop a relationship and you can tell what she is comfortable with. Seek out a daycare/trainer for dog socialization if you would like to see how much she can improve. Do not just meet dogs on the street. Good socialization with a dog of correct temperament is needed.
