Vito's Story
Vito is a 9-year-old Italian Greyhound mix (he has a docked tail like a Miniature Pinscher) who came into our care due to his owner passing away. He is a gentle and curious little guy. He lived with another small dog, but we don't know if he ever lived with kids or other types of pets. He is good on a leash and we think he is housebroken but we will have a better idea about that after he has been in our care for a few days.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs aged seven months to seven years old, and $250 for dogs aged eight years and older. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
