Vissla

We're scratching our heads at how this sweet girl hasn't been snapped up yet! Beautiful Vissla is a shiny black dog with a white stripe on her nose, a tiny white stripe on her chest (we call it her bikini top) and speckled white/black paws. <br/><br/>Vissla was found as a stray puppy in Puerto Rico and hitched a flight to Colorado with a volunteer to find her forever home. It's a good thing she's here, as she was born to be a Colorado dog. <br/><br/>While very cuddly and affectionate, Vissla also has energy to burn - she loves to run and play with her foster parents and her four-legged foster siblings! She can always be counted on to start a game of chase in the yard, and you can always hear her coming as she prefers to sprint down hallways and across rooms rather than walk. We don't blame her, she has places to be! <br/><br/>Vissla's foster mom has started training her on how to run by doing small run/walk intervals and Vissla loves it! She's a natural, so if you're looking for a Colorado adventure buddy, she's a perfect fit. She also loves long walks and hikes. She does well with the other dogs she meets on the trail.<br/><br/>Vissla is potty trained. She walks well on her leash, and she loves toys. She sleeps through the night in her crate, but she likes to get a chance to snuggle in bed with her foster mom before starting the day. <br/><br/>Vissla is a friendly girl - while maybe a bit shy in the first few minutes she does well meeting new people of all ages, and loves other dogs. She hasn't met a cat yet, but we have no doubt she'll get along with them, especially if they want to play with her! She also recently had a new, younger foster puppy enter her foster home, and Vissla took that shy pup under her wing. She's an empathetic soul. <br/><br/>Vissla is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her forever home to find her!<br/><br/>Usually, satos (homeless dogs from Puerto Rico) are a mix of many breeds, some chihuahua, some pit, and you name it! They are always loving and grateful.<br/>We do not know what breed Vissla is, possibly a lab mix, but a petite one! Whatever she is, it's a cute combo. We anticipate she will grow into a small/middle-sized adult, possibly around 40-45lb, but of course, they do sometimes surprise us!<br/><br/>If you are interested in adopting this pup, please fill out the application here.
