VIOLET's Story

WATCH MY VIDEO...Meet Violet. A Sweet Girl Waiting to Feel Safe

! Violet is a beautiful 1-year-old German Shepherd mix who has been a little nervous since arriving at the shelter. We can only imagine how overwhelming everything must feel to a young girl who is still figuring out her surroundings. But underneath that uncertainty is a truly wonderful dog who is longing for something very simple: love, patience and a person she can trust.

Our staff and volunteers describe Violet as super sweet, affectionate and curious. She craves human attention and always wants to be by your side. Once she feels comfortable, she is happy to gently jump up for pets, and there is nothing she seems to enjoy more than being close to her people.

Violet already knows how to sit and is learning “down.” She comes when called, walks nicely on leash, likes treats and enjoys playing with toys. She appears to be housetrained, too! She has a playful, active side and would love a family who will take her for walks, explore the world with her and give her plenty of opportunities to discover just how much fun life can be.

She can be shy at first, so please be patient with her. It will be worth it. We believe Violet simply needs time to settle in and gain confidence. She is said to get along with other dogs, although, as always, we recommend a meet and greet with any potential canine sibling to make sure everyone is comfortable together.

Violet doesn't need a perfect family. She needs a patient one. A family willing to give her the time and reassurance she needs to realize that she is safe, loved and finally home.

We can't wait for the day Violet walks out of our shelter with her forever family, knowing that she never has to wonder where she belongs again. Maybe that family is you.
