Violet's Story

Meet Violet, a gentle, bright, and oh-so-sweet girl who is ready to find her person!

Violet's foster says she can be a little shy and anxious when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes, some pets or treats while sitting down, and she quickly starts to warm up. Once she feels comfortable, she is incredibly friendly, playful, and cuddly. She loves climbing into laps, rolling over for belly rubs, playing with her toys, and being around her people. Her tail is almost always wagging!

She has also been a wonderful houseguest in her foster home. Violet seems to be fully house trained, not a barker, and has shown that she can be trusted when left alone. Her foster has successfully crated her both overnight and while away from the house, and has also left her loose in the home, where she has done great either way. She hasn't been a chewer or a dog who gets into things she shouldn't, and she settles nicely after getting some of her energy out.

Violet is a high-energy girl who loves her walks and playing tug with her people. Her foster says that while she can be very hyper, a good walk leaves her happy to curl up and take a nap. She knows quite a few cues, including her name, sit, wait, paw, lay down, no, heel, and go potty. She also loves looking out the window and keeping an eye on the world outside.

Violet is still getting comfortable with new people and new surroundings, and we are continuing to learn more about her as she settles in. What we already know, though, is that underneath that initial shyness is an incredibly sweet girl who has so much love and personality to give.

If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, playful companion who just needs a little time to come out of her shell, Violet might be your girl.
