She was surrendered to the rescue when her owner’s health declined, and now she’s ready to find the person/people who can give her the stability and love she deserves.

Personality & Temperament

Violet is an affectionate and playful little girl who loves being close to her person. Shes companionable, loyal, and happiest when she can simply be part of your daily life. She is comfortable sleeping in her dog bed or relaxing in her crate with the door open. She enjoys having a cozy spot of her own.

Violet may be a little shy when meeting new people and isn't the type to enjoy being petted right away. The best way to win her over is to give her a little time and let her come to you at her own pace. Once she realizes you're a friend, her trust grows quickly, and her sweet, playful personality begins to shine. With a gentle introduction and a bit of patience, Violet blossoms into a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to her people.

House Training

She is house trained, though she may have an occasional accident during transitions. Violet is familiar with potty pads and will use them reliably until she adjusts to her new routines. With consistency, she settles in quickly.

Energy & Play

Violet is an active terrier who loves playing fetch and enjoys engaging with her people. She’s spirited, curious, and fun and a great match for someone who appreciates a dog with personality.
Violet loves the rain when it first starts and tries to catch droplets in her mouth often hilariously barking at the sky to give her more!!

Other Dogs

Like many terriers, Violet has a bold streak. She doesn't typically start trouble, but she absolutely won’t back down if another dog challenges her. She has lived most of her life as an only dog and would thrive as one. She may do well with another dog in the right home, but careful introductions and a confident owner are important.

Adoption Information

Please note: Because of their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

If you live in the immediate Austin area and are interested in adopting from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and Other Petite Paws, please visit http://www.lilpaws.org to fill out an application. Unfortunately, a Petfinder Inquiry does not fulfill our application requirements.

We do not have a physical facility all of our dogs live in loving foster homes.
Lil Paws is a small, all-volunteer organization. To best use our limited time and resources, we are only able to correspond with individuals who have submitted an adoption application from our website.

We encourage you to visit with our dogs and their fosters, by planning to attend our Meet and Greet Events which are held on the first Saturday of each month at the Pet Supplies Plus in Round Rock from noon to 2 p.m. We suggest you check our website for exact dates.

Pet Supplies Plus
17420 Ranch to Market Rd 620 #150
Round Rock, TX 78681

OTHER TIMES AND LOCATIONS MAY BE LISTED ON OUR WEBSITE: lilpaws.org +++We have added an event at an alternate location in mid September and October, 2026+++

We are only able to adopt our dogs to those living within the immediate Austin area. Even if you are willing to travel, we must keep our efforts local to maintain the integrity of our process.

Our mission is to place our dogs in safe, stable, and loving homes within the Austin area. Thank you for understanding and for supporting rescue!
________________________________________
Supporting Lil Paws

Lil Paws Maltese Rescue and Other Petite Paws relies on donations to provide the medical care our dogs need before adoption. Every pup receives essential vetting such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and dental care and many require additional or even major medical treatments.
Your donations make this possible.
