Violet's Story

🪻☀️ADOPTABLE WEIM
Hi! My name is Violet (or V for short), and I am a 10-year young Weimaraner. I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on preventive. I have lived my whole life with one family until circumstances changed and my mom could no longer take care of me. I love to eat, sleep, snuggle and have snacks!

I am good with other dogs but need a little time to adjust. I have also lived with cats. I’m not the best with hardwood floors but I am learning to adjust there as well. It would be good for rugs to be down if you have hardwood floors.

I just recently learned how to walk down the stairs. It’s kind of scary! My original home didn’t have any stairs. I am great with baths and nail trims! So far, I have proven to be good on a leash and enjoy car rides unless I see a cow, horses, or people as I tend to get excited and bark at them a bit.

I do like my current human kiddos that I am being fostered with and have enjoyed walks with them and snuggles. I also like sleeping in their bed at night though I can also be crated or left free range in the house for hours.

I have been a little uncertain of my new surroundings but learning to trust quickly. Men seem to intimidate me a little bit but learning to trust them too. Oh, I don’t like loud noises. But my only reaction to these things is to find a quiet corner until things settle down.

I do love chasing the side by side on the farm, enjoy roaming the farm (though I never tend to go far!) but most of all, I LOVE just laying around and being lazy, unless I hear a chip bag opening! I am currently being fostered in Berry, KY which is halfway between Lexington, KY and Cincinnati.

👩‍🦰Ok thank you V for the intro! I will step in here as foster mom and confirm everything she said is absolutely true! If you have always wanted a Weimaraner because of their brains and beauty but were too intimidated by the craziness of their energy, V is your girl! She is very laid back. She will go for a walk if you want to walk or she will snuggle if you want to snuggle! Violet will 100% match your energy!

Our adoption application is available on our website https://www.louisvilleweimrescue.com/. We would love to get V into her forever home!
