Viola's Story

Sweet, shy Viola was rescued with her sister Rosalie from the Adams Co. dog pound after her owner passed away. Both are sweet senior gals. They were so terribly neglected during their lives that they needed painful mats to be cut away, most of their teeth pulled and a heavy course of antibiotics. They are probably 10 years old.

Viola is a beautiful champagne color, which sometimes happens with silky terriers. As they grow, their coats can "brown out"-- it is a rare but very attractive trait. She is very shy, has never been on a leash, and will need your help to build her confidence. Like her sister though, she adores petting and would love to be your little lap dog.

Unfortunately, Viola has mammary tumors on both gland chains and possibly an abdominal tumor which makes going to the bathroom a bit of a chore. At her age, to operate could be deadly, and since she is not suffering and still has energy to run and play and give little puppy licks, we are looking for a home to let her live out her days-- a hospice of sorts. Consequently, there is NO adption fee for Viola, and it would be so wonderful if she were placed together with her sister Rosalie.

All of our animals come fully up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and dewormed, as well as neutered, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
