Vinny MY26-138's Story
**Meet Vinny!**

Vinny is an 8-year-old Bichon Frise weighing 12 pounds with a gentle heart and a sweet personality. He is still learning to trust people, but he has been making some great progress and is beginning to discover that people can be safe and trustworthy.

Vinny will need patient adopters who understand that building trust takes time. He does best when people allow him to move at his own pace and give him the time and space he needs to become comfortable. With consistency, patience, and positive experiences, Vinny is continuing to gain confidence.

Vinny often forms a strong bond with another dog, which is why he requires a home with another confident, well-socialized canine companion. Having another dog around helps Vinny feel more secure and can help him build confidence as he develops a relationship with his people.

Vinny also requires a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and enjoy time outdoors. A calm, predictable home without young children would be the best fit for him and allow him the quiet environment he needs to continue making progress.

Vinny has been making wonderful strides with handling and is becoming more comfortable with people. His future family will need to continue supporting that progress with patience, gentle interactions, and a willingness to let him set the pace.

With the right people, a confident canine companion, and plenty of time to build trust, Vinny has the potential to blossom into a loving and devoted companion.

A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Vinny, any resident dogs, and his potential adopters.

------
Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.
