Vinnie's Story

Available for Adoption – Vinnie!

Where to begin with this old man. He certainly has given our team a scare a few times, but he seems to have settled out and is thriving, so it's time. Time to find him that forever next chapter.

We were approached by a gentleman who's Aunts we both in a Post Falls care facility, and the time had come where it was in the best interest of all to have Vinnie be taken care of by someone new. Unfortunately, Auntie didn't have a plan for who would take care of Vinnie, so we were asked to help out. So last November he came trotting in thru the barn doors.

His mouth was wretched, and he probably hadn't been to a vet in a decade. So first stop was bloodwork and a dental. We got a big surprise when we went to do the dental. Vinnie had a hard spot on his tummy that was super off. So we opened him up. Good thing! A splenectomy was in order. Slowly, Vinnie healed up from that overhaul. But then he had a seizure, so off to the ER. We manage his seizures with meds, and that is going well.

So back to Dr Laura to get that Dental. She took out what was left, no surprise there. And Vinnie healed up with the help of some heavy lifting antibiotics.

We have been monitoring him for the last few months, and things are looking good. He adventures with foster mom, Sheryl just about everywhere. They went camping last month and he had a blast.

If you are looking for an incredible lap man to love on for the rest of his days, Vinnie is your dog! How old? old as dirt, they say (13yrs). Does well with other dogs, uses the doggy stairs, is housetrained, has a deep respect for your space, and will keep you engaged. Vinnie will remain on two medications long-term, costing about $55 per month.

If you're looking to give a sweet senior a peaceful, love-filled retirement, Vinnie is ready to meet you.

Adoption Fee: $100

The Furry Farm Rescue's Adoption Policy
When you see an animal you would like to find out more about and meet, please go fill out our adoption application to start the process. Our adoptions are not first come first served, but a match of the needs of the animal with the best potential adopter. You can expect to hear from us within a week or two after submitting your application. With review of your application, we conduct a phone interview, check references, and speak to your veterinarian. During that process we will also schedule a time for you to come meet and get to know your new furry friend. If you have other animals, we will want to do intros at that time. We then ask you to take a few days to think about it and let us know. Next, we come to your house and do a last meet and greet before finalizing the adoption. All adopters sign a contract with the Furry Farm Rescue. All of our adoptions come with a 2 week trial period for dogs, and 1 week for cats. This allows you and your new furry friend some time to bond and decide if this is a forever family. Our Adoption fees vary between $50 to $275 for dogs, and cats are $40 to $60. Each pet’s fee will be listed in their biography.
