Vera's Story
Vera is a one-year-old Aussiedoodle puppy who weighs approx. 40 lbs. She was surrendered to rescue with a fractured femur, and has spent time in a foster home for subsequent surgery and recovery. Her leg is now stable and with targeted exercises, getting stronger. She walks, runs and plays with ease but will periodically hold her leg up to rest. She will need ongoing commitment to strengthening exercises and stretches.

Vera attended basic training group classes (and passed!) and is a quick learner who is very receptive to direction. She is potty trained and knows basic commands and has a large vocabulary; she would do exceptionally well to continue on with training through to advanced level classes.
She enjoys the security and family time of sleeping in bed with her foster family. She is crated while no one is home and does well, provided the time spent in her crate is limited to about 5 hours maximum as a general rule. She is excited when first let out of her crate, but is easily redirected. Vera is an energetic puppy and needs an active lifestyle to keep her happy. She walks well on leash but having a fenced yard to run free has boosted her confidence and kept her mentally stimulated.

She switches gears easily and will settle nicely and rest her head in laps for snuggly down time and movie nights. Small, young children may be overwhelmed by her excitement. She has a history of chasing cats, so she will need a home without. She loves to play with the same-sized, easy going dog in her foster home and is dog social. She can be vocal in play, which could intimidate some dogs. Ideally, her family will have experience with dog-to-dog relationships living in the same home. This sweet girl deserves to finally find the dedicated, forever, loving home that she deserves.
