Venus's Story

Animal Information: Venus is a female German Shepherd/Malinois mix. Venus is the roman goddess of love. She was found as a stray with her mom and 9 siblings. She had been at the Devore animal shelter for 2 weeks and was on the euth list due to space. Thanks to a Seattle area foster stepping up to take the family in, they were all saved. We will share more about Venus her mom and siblings as they settle in.

Foster Profile: Say hello to Venus, our sweet 6 month old Malinois/Shepherd mix foster pup. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, loyal, and incredibly smart best friend—Venus might be your girl. She is very connected to her people, eager to learn, and already knows sit , down, shake, spin, and place (mat)—she is currently working on roll over.:) She is very food motivated and thrives with guidance and consistency.
Venus does best in a calm, predictable environment. When things get too busy, she can
feel overwhelmed, but she’s learning to manage her impulses and settle.
She’s dog-friendly, adventurous, and a confident pup. She is potty trained, and crate
trained, though she prefers not to be crated when people are home—she’d much rather
be part of the action.
Venus isn’t very snuggly and is still a very mouthy puppy. With her sharp teeth, she may
nip while learning boundaries, so any home with kids should be comfortable with typical
puppy behavior. She is currently fostered in our home with young kids and does best
with close supervision with our younger one. Older kids may be better suited to handling
her. She would thrive with an active person or family—think hiking, beach days, and maybe
even agility in the future. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings fun, beauty, heart, and brains, Venusis ready to meet you. (Home with securely fenced yard and breed experience
preferred.) We will not be considering apartments for these puppies

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).

Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application

Animal History: This dog was transferred from in Devore Animal Shelter in CA. She will be transferred via Wiggle Butts, arriving to foster care on 01/25/2026 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
