Velma *special needs*'s Story

This sweet senior lady is ready to find her perfect forever home. At 14 years old and weighing 13 pounds, Velma has a special kind of charm that comes from a life well-lived... even if it hasn't always been easy. Her previous owner could no longer care for her, and now she's looking for someone to give her the love and comfort she truly deserves.

Velma is a special needs pup, and she embraces life in her own way. She has some hind-end weakness and tends to "ice skate" when she walks, and she needs her bladder expressed a few times a day. While that might sound intimidating, our dedicated staff will teach you everything you need to know, and it becomes second nature before you know it. She also has arthritis and takes Gabapentin to keep her comfortable, but none of this slows down her spirit or her love of life.

Despite her special needs, Velma has plenty of pep! She adores her toys, especially balls, and can often be found guarding one or two on her big, soft bed. She's gentle, affectionate, and loves to be doted on by her humans. She enjoys cuddling and hanging out with other mellow dogs too, so she'll be a perfect companion in a calm, loving home.

Velma has been through a lot in her life, and now it's her turn to relax, feel safe, and be adored. Her ideal home would have someone experienced with senior or special needs dogs, and someone who can be around most of the day as Velma loves being right by your side.

This little lady is pure love and she's just waiting to steal your heart. Could you be the person to give Velma the comfort, attention, and care she deserves? Please inquire today!
