Velma's Story
Meet Velma! SEE FOSTER UPDATES BELOW! HOUSE-TRAINED GIRL WHO ADORES OTHER PUPS!

This one-year-old terrier mix is the perfect-sized pal at 35-pounds. She arrived at GLDR with her brother Salem and they are ready to say so long to kennel life and become a part of families that adore them!

Velma is currently enjoying some much needed time in a fabulous foster home. We are excited to share all we've learned about this gentle pup. Velma is eager to begin life in a home and is already house-trained! She gets along wonderfully with her two foster fur sisters and she will benefit from having another confident dog in the home. If your dog is looking for a canine companion, give Velma a chance!

While she can be timid at first, once she feels comfortable, Velma shows her affectionate side by giving soft kisses and taking treats ever so gently. Her new family will need to be patient with her and commit to helping her become the confident pup we know she can be. She loves her squeaky toys and likes to carry them around with her. She is a fan of meaty treats and her foster parents can take both food and toys away with no issue.

As she is still a young lady, Velma will thrive with continued training, daily exercise, and a yard to enjoy in her new home. Love the outdoors? One of Velma's favorite things is relaxing and playing in the yard with her brother. She rides well in the car and is good on leash too! With consistency, encouragement, and a predictable routine, this sweet girl will blossom into a loyal and loving companion who will be by your side for many years to come.

A fan of being cozy, Velma will often find a comfy place on the couch to curl up on. At the end of the day, Velma sleeps quietly through the night, dreaming of her forever family. She also happens to have the most adorable snore ever!

Based on our evaluation, we feel Velma would do best in an active, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. We think she'll do best with a furry pal, and are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby.

If you think Velma is the girl for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this tender terrier!
