Vanna's Story

Heartland generally serves Indiana, Kentucky and the Cincinnati areas. However we cannot cover every area. We do work with our sister and brother rescues in other areas as well. Please consider your local Sheltie rescue before applying outside your area.

We will NOT ship our available dogs. A home visit by a volunteer is required before an application can be approved. ********************************************************************************************
Vanna was found as a stray and no owner came forward.
At some time someone shaved her coat. Her coat is now about an inch long and growing.
She has been itchy so now takes Zyrtec daily and has some some ointment for the itchy spots.
She came to us with ticks galore but those have been removed. No fleas. No tick borne diseases.
She is a super friendly girl. Loves to ride in the car! Fabulous on leash, too!
She hasn't paid a lot of attention to thr dogs in her foster home but she is VERY interested in the outdoor cats. They are not impressed with her at all! LOL!
Vanna enjoyed her bath and didn't hate the power dryer but she hated having her butt brushed.
Vanna was 66 pounds at her Vet visit.
