Vangie's Story

Meet Vangie! 🐾
Vangie is a loving, alert, and intelligent 3-year-old Jack Russell/Border Collie mix bursting with joyful energy and affection. She’s a total cuddle-bug and proud velcro dog who wants to be wherever her people are—preferably soaking up belly rubs or playing with a favorite toy.

True to her breeds, Vangie is active, playful, and smart. She loves walks, car rides, chasing balls, patrolling the yard for squirrels, and using her brain. While she’s energetic, she also settles nicely and is happy to nap nearby or entertain herself with toys and bones.

Vangie does best with structure, consistency, and an active lifestyle. She’d love a confident dog buddy her size who enjoys rough-and-tumble play, though she may succeed as an only dog in a very active, involved home with regular dog interaction. She’s housetrained, well-mannered in the home, and can be left out with toys—no crate required.

She can be shy with new people and reactive on leash at first, but with slow introductions and positive reinforcement, she warms up quickly and becomes very affectionate. Her reactivity comes from uncertainty, not aggression, and she continues to improve with training.

Vangie is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She has an old back-leg injury that doesn’t slow her down—she runs, plays, and does stairs just fine.

Vangie’s ideal home includes:

A secure fenced yard (6 ft preferred)

An active family with time to play and train

A confident dog buddy (preferred)

Clear rules and loving leadership

Vangie has been through a lot in her young life, but she’s ready to settle into a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and included. She has so much love to give—she’s just waiting for the right person to give her a chance. 💛
