Vanessa's Story

Meet Vanessa! Vanessa is a sweet, affectionate Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix who loves spending time with people. Whether she's soaking up gentle pets, heading out for a walk, or showing off her manners, this lovely girl is happiest when she's by your side. Vanessa seems to have had some training, and has responded well to commands like "come," "stay," and "sit." She's also been practicing "down," and because she's food motivated and eager to please, she'll likely enjoy continuing her training with her new family. Vanessa enjoys going for walks. She happily gets leashed up and strolls nicely alongside volunteer walkers, even checking back in with her person for guidance. Of course, she does want to investigate all the interesting scents along the way, but has been easy to redirect. She's also taken everyday sights and sounds, including loud car horns, in stride, showing a calm and confident personality. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who enjoys affection the occasional walk, Vanessa may be the perfect fit. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. If you do not find the right animal on your first visit to our shelter, please return another day when new animals will be available for adoption. We include as much information as we know about an animal on their information card. We are here to help make a wonderful new addition to your family. Adoption Requirements • Must be 18 years of age or older (seniors 65 and over qualify for the Seniors for Seniors program) • Must have valid ID with current address • Must provide landlord’s name and phone number (or copy of current lease) • All members of the household should be present • You must understand that Berea Animal Rescue must approve your adoption application If this is your first visit, please follow this link, bit.ly/ARFWaiver, to provide us with your household’s information and sign our Animal Contact Waiver.
